Antiques & Shopping

If you're one who loves to go antiquing, the Johnny Appleseed Festival is a must-see. The selection of antiques and collectibles offered varies widely, so if you're someone who likes decorating your home with vintage pieces, I'm sure you'll find at least a few things at the festival to satisfy your particular taste. Also, the prices on many of these items are surprisingly reasonable. I'm not an antiques buff, but I couldn't help but notice the prices on a lot of the items. I would say that they compare with what one might expect to pay for a similar modern manufactured item in a retail store.

This particular picture, seen above, shows a view into one of the several antique and collectible pavilions scattered throughout the park. However, most of the antique pavilions are concentrated to the northwest area of the park, edging along the parking lot of the Coliseum.

If the more traditional, 'just-for-looks' antiques aren't really your thing, you can also purchase commonly used everyday items at the festival. Most, if not all, of the items featured in the more hands-on and working pavilions are made right at the festival in the pavilion you can purchase them at. Here, you can see a blacksmithing shop making items for sale. I've always found blacksmithing fascinating, but I've just never really had the facilities to try it as a hobby or trade.
